LITTLE SUNFLOWER is a modal jazz classic composed by jazz trumpet legend Freddie Hubbard. The tune is model, based around the key center of of D minor. My arrangement, like Hubbard’s original, is played over a Latin, bossa nova feel. It lays out very well in C6th tuning. At bar 32, the tune segues to a D minor vamp as a bed for improvising for as many bars as desired. To end, you can fade out or end on a D minor or Dmin9th chord.
