Georgia on My Mind is a languid, sensuous popular standard written in 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell. Carmichael recorded “Georgia on My Mind” with Bix Beiderbecke on cornet in New York City on September 15, 1930. The song has come to be associated with Ray Charles, a native of the state of Georgia, who recorded it for his 1960 album “The Genius Hits the Road”. In 1979, the State of Georgia designated Ray Charles’s version the official state song.

My arrangment for C6th is a straightforward chord melody version, harmonizing the song in triads and double stops, with occasional single-note passages
