Crazy is a country music standard written by Willie Nelson and Nelson’s version appeared on his 1962 debut album “And Then I Wrote.” The song remains inextricably linked with Patsy Cline. It has been covered by dozens of artists in multiple genres over over the years and remains a favorite of both listeners and musicians. My arrangement for C6th lap steel in the key of Eb is a fairly straightforward rendition of the melody expressed via a mix of single notes, double stops and triad chords. “Crazy” is a timeless ballad and fits the lap steel like a musical glove.
