Sweet Georgia Brown is one of the most recorded standards in all of jazz. Instrumentalists and vocalists of every stripe have had a go at the song with a particularly memorable version by Anita O’Day in the classic documentary “Jazz on a Summer’s Day”. The Harlem Globetrotters basketball team used it as their theme song for many years. My arrangement harmonizes the song with two passes through the melody before running through the changes again with a composed solo, designed to give you a feel for some of the musical colors available in the B11th tuning.
