ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST - for 8-string C6th lap steel (PDF Digital Download)

$3.50

Once Upon a Time in the West was composed by Ennio Morricone for the 1968 western film of the same name that was directed by Sergio Leone. It is widely considered one of the best of the classic Spaghetti Western film scores. My non-pedal arrangement uses C6th tuning extended with an A and F note on the bottom - a tuning that offers a beautiful major 7th chord voicing on the bottom four strings. Because the open strings 4-8 form an Fmaj7, this tuning could also be called C6th/Fmaj7.

TUNING NOTES:

(Low to High): F A C E G A C E

Note: Midi audio usually sounds closer to a keyboard than a steel guitar but it is useful for demonstrating the rhythms, feel and overall intent of an arrangement or musical passage. Make this music come alive on your steel guitar!
