Sweetnin’ is a charming steel guitar instrumental with a Latin Rumba feel composed by legendary steel guitarist Herb Remington. The song appeared on his 1965 LP “Remington Rides Again!” “Sweetnin’” fits into the “Exotica” or “Space Age Pop” category of catchy instrumental tunes.

Herb used the A6th tuning exclusively, but my arrangement is for the arguably more popular C6th tuning. Following Remington’s lead, the [A] section uses natural harmonics while the [B] section alternates palm muted passages with unmuted sounds. To play these palm muted sounds, lay your palm across the strings as you pick, picking it up just enough to allow the partially blocked srings to ring.
