Meditation is is a a beloved bossa nova and jazz standard composed by bossa Antônio Carlos Jobim and Newton Mendonça. The power of a great melody, like this one, is that the song doesn’t need a lot of embellishments to make a satisfying lap steel instrumental. This arrangement is  simple and easy to play, using solely single notes.  My goal of using only single notes is to emphasize the vocal qualities of the lap steel. In laying out the music, I had in mind the great melody sax players - like Stan Getz, Ben Webster, Paul Desmond and Lester Young.
